Flapjaw: Talking Puppet

Flapjaw

Meet Flapjaw, a googly-eyed puppet with a lot to say and absolutely no idea what any of it means. You move his mouth. He does the talking.

Flapjaw, a coral puppet with googly eyes and his mouth open

On iPhone Duo, the whole phone is the jaw

On iPhone and iPad, drag his jaw with a finger. On an iPhone Duo, open and close the phone itself: the two halves become his jaws, and the cover display is his face while he waits.

Flap it slowly and he mumbles. Flap it fast and he has a lot to say.

Flapjaw spread across an open iPhone Duo, the upper jaw on one half and the lower jaw on the other

What he gets up to

A puppet, a mic, a wardrobe, and no idea what any of it means.

Fluent in nonsense screen

Fluent in nonsense

Move his mouth and he chatters away in his own made-up language, in an accent that changes every few sentences. Stop moving and he stops talking. You're the puppeteer, right down to the awkward pauses.

Your words, his voices screen

Your words, his voices

Hold the mic and say something. Then move his mouth to hear it back in three ridiculous voices, each sillier than the last, and then it's gone.

Even a vampire screen

Even a vampire

Even a perfectly normal sentence sounds deeply unserious coming out of a puppet with fangs.

Dress him up screen

Dress him up

Mix and match eyes, hats, glasses, noses, ears, teeth, tongues, and more. Give him a crown, a mustache, and a fly for a snack. Nobody said he had good taste.

Or pick a whole look screen

Or pick a whole look

Pick a ready-made look or build your own, save the ones you like, shuffle everything for a surprise, and undo when you want to go back.

He feels every tilt screen

He feels every tilt

Poke his eyes, lead them with your finger, tickle him, or tilt and shake your device to see him react. He has feelings. Mostly confusion.

Make him yours screen

Make him yours

Stick stickers all over his face, then move, resize, and rotate them into place. Blue interior, robot teeth, headphones: every part is a choice.

Keep his face screen

Keep his face

Take a picture and it goes straight to your camera roll. Put his face on your Home Screen with a widget.

Free to play, one purchase for the rest

  • His own voice and every made-up language
  • Your voice, said back three ways
  • Every poke, tickle, tilt, and shake reaction
  • A starter wardrobe, and a picture of him for your camera roll

One purchase, Unlock Everything, opens every look, every part, and every sticker. Yours forever, and shared with your whole family through Family Sharing.

Parent-friendly by design

  • No ads
  • No accounts or sign-in
  • No subscriptions
  • No analytics or tracking
  • Nothing you record ever leaves your device
  • Settings, the purchase, and links behind a grown-ups' gate

The gear in the corner needs a one-second hold and then a multiplication question before it opens Settings, the purchase, the mail link, or the App Store review link.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 16, 2026

Flapjaw collects nothing. The app has no accounts, no login, no backend servers, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party code of any kind. Its App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected", and its privacy manifest declares no tracking and no collected data.

The microphone

Flapjaw listens only while you hold the mic button, so he can say your words back. What he hears stays in the device's memory for the three replays and is then gone. It is never written to a file and never sent anywhere. The copycat switch in Settings turns the microphone off entirely, and that choice is remembered.

Photos

The camera button saves a picture of your puppet to your photo library. The app asks for add-only access: it can put pictures in, and it never looks at what is already there.

Motion

Tilt and shake reactions use the device's motion sensors while the app is open. Those readings move his eyes and his hat and are discarded on the spot.

What stays on the device

Saved looks, the copycat switch, sound settings, and whether the one-time purchase has been made are stored only on the device, in the app's own settings. They are removed when you delete the app. The Home Screen widget reads the same saved face and nothing else.

The purchase

"Unlock Everything" is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Flapjaw sees only whether the purchase exists; it never sees your payment details, your name, or your Apple account.

Children's privacy

Flapjaw is made for kids and lives in the App Store's Kids category. There is no way to share anything through the app: no text fields, no messaging, no social features, and no outward links on the play surfaces. Settings, the purchase, the mail link, and the App Store review link sit behind a hold and a multiplication question meant for a grown-up.

Third parties

The app contains no third-party services, SDKs, or analytics providers. The only network requests it makes are the ones the operating system performs on its own, such as checking the purchase with the App Store or updating the app.

This website

This page uses Plausible, a cookieless analytics service that collects no personal information, to count visits. The app itself never talks to it.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change what Flapjaw collects, we'll update this page and bump the "last updated" date above before any change ships.
